Yes, it was right outside of the city wall underwater, by Gerbi's bioshock tower.  I think I might rebuild Unnamia in the current server since I really loved that place and I have nothing better to do.

I may also try your fix although it seems like a ton of work.  I'm normally ok just avoiding spawn.
