Yep. Blue_Dwarf is right, as always. Minecraft handles books HORRIBLY. If you die with them or go to creative with them in your inventory they have a VERY HIGH (but not perfect) chance of corrupting. I can do literally nothing about that. Moral of the story, dont store enchanted books on you unless you plan to use them immediately.
