Hardcore Restoration Project

Hey Minedudes and Mineladies! So having gotten a copy of hardcore, or pre-intro 'Standard', I've been going about and rebuilding damage to the world and finishing projects left undone. So far, one of my greatest achievements is what I believe is Section 8's base, built over a lake. Below are some examples of the main citadel, which I finished. The wall around it was only half done, and the floating island required a lot of filling in to break up the patches.

Now, I'm working on what I believe is the remains of Aurum, not too far from Antioch, and utterly blown to smithereens. I suspect what I've found are the remains of whatever battle took plac, however, I'm still trying to rebuild as much as I can because a railway runs through there that I've linked to Section 8, Thundersnow and ends at what I think may be an Aurum Outpost hundreds of miles away. <span style="font-weight: bold;">If anyone has any pictures of what it looked like whole, I'd appreciate them.</span>

the thing with the Lava Moat was owned by the Aurum Rebels. they abandoned Aurum during the Antioch civil war. The ensuing civil war saw the fall of Aurum and the removal of the rebels. Though Antiochan forces lost more troops we still ground them to the dust in the end. its part of the Aurum culture. the actual blowing up of Aurum happened much later by a griefer. the city had been deserted for months before it blew up.

I'm doing it mostly for personal enjoyment, partially to save what I like to think of as a 'museum copy' of that world. One where it's pristine and complete. Also, let it be said that the griefer that detonated aurum went through great pains to flood every bit of its interior.

Nah, after the griefing I smoothed over the area with terraforming tools. as it was not going to be rebuilt at the time and as an eye sore of floating grossness.

&nbsp;i feel like i'm looking at a villeins fortress. i want see this in some type of game and be like after i beat the boss at the top of the tower i want to see the end credits roll up and the castle crumbling down in like a 16-bit way *sigh* i'm just thinking castlevanina stuff.

To Fax: Heh, I can see that. I've been resurfacing the ocean floor and reconnecting tunnels. I was still hopeful to see what it looked like because the undersea map generated by Unmined was interesting to say the least.



To BadMan: I was thinking evil fortress with kind of an ancient Asian structure look. I initially there were only two levels, so I just kept going with what the original builder was doing.

Having essentially finished tidying up Hardcore, I'm now working on the Bluetopia server map. That's the one with Sheng, RP City, Bluetopia and the Space Shuttle. It is.. a task. A huge area around the new spawn point has been turned into a crater down to bedrock, there's lava pollution for half a mile out, and the world refuses to convert from 1.1 to anything more current. Anyone who has a copy that's not quite so obliterated around spawn, or can think of an effective way to convert it to a newer build, any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Oh, and if anyone's got a copy of the original server, the one with the spawn compass and Unnamia/Crappy Town, I'd love to get a copy of that for the archives too. Thanks!

Blue has a copy of the original world. The one I have I believe is from September or early October of 2010.

I also have a copy of the sheng/bluetopia world but I believe it's the same save you have.

I would love to grad a copy of both. I recall a version of the Bluetopia world where spawn was blown up, but the destruction didn't go as far out.

Downloaded First World, absolutely fantastic. Not a tremendous amount of damage, I've actually repaired the worst of it already and am now free to explore. The absurdly huge craters still exist under spawn and Unnamia, but they're festooned with walkways and columns and all other manner of construction. Unmined is scanning it, and as usual, I am surprised to find structures and towns I wasnt aware of. Looking forward to getting your copy of Bluetopia Map, as it was in significantly better shape than the copy I got. Also, I fixed most of Spawn and the surrounding areas last night. Pulled an all nighter, so please save that one! Thanks for all your help in my project. Hell, maybe I'll snag a copy of Intro too.

Sig I give you so much props for all the stuff you have found. &nbsp;I can't even believe id ever see a Glips of Tsnow again! &nbsp;Seeing the section 8 logo really brought back a lot of memories in the old times

I'm currently working on a copy of the Bluetopian server, the one just before Hardcore with the above cactarian miscreant. There's a lot of damage around spawn from just before when the server map was restarted, but MCEdit is helping a lot with that. I'm happy to have found a lot of stuff I wasn't aware even existed, but sad that a lot of it is blown to smithereens!!
